In 2017, the ZCBF has entered into a joint project with Amangwe Village proposing to establish a toy library inside the ZCBF park. This will provide a service and meet the needs of disadvantaged crèches on the southern part of Umhlathuze ( Esikhawini, Mandlazini, Mzingazi and surrounding the CBD).
This will be done together with uMhlathuze Municipality and the Department of Social Development (DSD).
Training was provided to the crèches, with the support of DSD and they will also have access to borrow books and toys to educate kids and return them taking turns in borrowing them.
Since Amangwe Village has an existing and fully operating toy library, they will provided insight and assistance on how to run one.
